EMAT Guided Wave Inspections
EMAT technology is first in a series of inspection methods and tools that make us a leader and pioneer in field of Advanced Corrosion Detection and Prevention.
ACTTs EMAT (Electro Magnetic Acoustic Transducers) inspection technique can be used on exotic alloys such as Hastaloy furnace tubes and is idea for many types of corrosion detection applications. Conventional pitch catch ultrasound has difficulty maintaining an acoustic contact with the rough surfaces, inspects a narrow area, and is time consuming. Speed and Accuracy of EMAT is superior to other automated scanning systems.
Applications:
- Pipeline Direct Assessments
- Insulated Pipe Inspections On-Line (CUI)
- High Temperature Piping
- Vessel Inspection
- Weld Inspections
- Pipe Support Inspection
- Fired Heater Tube Inspections
- Tank Inspections
- Weld location
- Soil to Air inspections can be used In-Service or during outages
- Flare Stacks
Why use EMATs?
- Can be used In-Service or during outages
- Can be used in High Temperature Applications
- EMATs can tolerate adverse conditions/ applications - Tanks, walls and floors, Vessels, and Heater Tubes
- High speed screening - global inspections. Capable of
covering large areas (approx. 14 ft/min.) - EMATs can inspect area not normally accessible such as buried or hidden regions
- Lightweight and portable
ACTTs EMAT Guide Wave can detect:
- General wall thining
- Isolated pitting
- General corrosion
- Hydrogen induced cracking
- Stress induced cracking
- Acid etching
- Chromium delpletion
- Corrosion under insulation (CUI)
